Manager, Lands and Properties
Reporting directly to the General Manager Strategic Initiatives, you will be responsible for formulating and executing the strategies required for optimizing and enhancing the value of the City’s land assets. This includes a sizable portfolio of City owned lands in Coquitlam including strategic properties in the City Centre area and extensive holdings on Burke Mountain. Through a small complement of staff, this position is accountable for providing the strategic oversight and required administration, to enable the Lands and Properties Division to be operated in an efficient, cost effective and professional manner.
You can expect to perform complex negotiations with developers, property sellers, property purchasers and others with the respect to the development, expropriation, purchase, sale, lease and rental of properties. You have developed well honed written and verbal communication skills in combination with having a proficient understanding of what it is like to work within a political environment. Your strong work ethic and business acumen is well demonstrated and you are not afraid of rolling your shirt sleeves up in order to get the job done.
You have graduated from an accredited post-secondary institution with a degree in real estate, urban land economics, commerce, business, finance, architecture, planning or other related field. In addition, you may have also completed formal education having earned you certification and/or professional designations being currently held. A minimum of ten years directly related experience is required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered and a valid British Columbia driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are also required.
