Partnership Developer and – ReForest London – London

Million Tree Challenge Partnership Development:
The goal of this role is to help ReForest London increase business and corporate support for London’s Million Tree Challenge through research, communications, meetings, storytelling, publicity, acknowledgment, and tracking – providing a valuable ROI for businesses and corporations with a focus on “green” community support.
Your job responsibilities for this program will include:
Identifying businesses in London that put an emphasis on sustainability and/or corporate social responsibility who would be good candidates for Million Tree Challenge partnerships, or who may wish to plant trees on their own properties
Scheduling and participating in meetings with potential MTC partners to learn more about their sustainability or CSR programs, to explore ways we might collaborate, and to pitch MTC partnership
Working with partners to identify potential planting opportunities on their land, and assist with funding requests through the City of London’s “TreeMe” match funding program for plantings on private land
Developing social media content to recognize the support of local businesses of our various environmental initiatives and London’s Million Tree Challenge
Developing presentation and lunch & learn materials for ‘green’ businesses. The creation of online web stories to showcase the work of MTC partners
Assisting with outreach to local media about MTC initiatives being undertaken with members of London’s business community
Track MTC partner actions through our Customer-Relationship Management database (Sumac)
Reviewing and putting into practice various cold-call strategies for new prospective MTC partners that we have not worked with before
In-person meetings with business people from Marketing and HR Assistants to CEOs
Phone and email conversations to articulate the MTC program and its benefits to business, and to schedule meetings
General communications support for other ReForest London program activities and events as required

Signal Boost Community Animation Assistant:
The goal of this role is to support our new Signal Boost Coordinator in developing, planning and facilitating the many environmental education activities and workshops that will occur at the new Westminster Ponds Centre for Environment and Sustainability. ReForest London relies heavily on collaboration with our community, and we will seek your help in finding ways to effectively engage with outside organizations in this new program; together, you will work as a team to ensure the first year is a success.
Your job responsibilities for this program will include:
Working with the Signal Boost Coordinator to plan out the program for the year
Holding one-on-one meetings with LEN members to help identify and/or develop suitable activities, workshops, presentations, etc. that could be offered as a part of the Signal Boost program
Scheduling Signal Boost events
Assisting with advertising and promotion for the events to ensure a good turnout to Signal Boost events
Identifying suitable speakers for a “skills development” series that will be offered to the LEN member organizations themselves
Researching and developing copy for use in marketing materials about the Bruce Pavilion and the former rehabilitation centre / new Westminster Ponds Centre
General support for other ReForest London programs and events, as required
This is a full time contract position beginning in late May. The term of employment will be 14 weeks, given a

Qualifications:
Fluency in English
Post-secondary studies in one of the following fields: Business, Marketing, Media, Non-Profit Management, Event Planning or Project Management
Due to funding requirements, applicants must also be:
Between 15 – 30 years of age
Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, or persons on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

Intermediate knowledge of social medial platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instragram, LinkedIn)
Photography and design skills strongly preferred.
Experience:
The ideal candidate has post-secondary education or work experience in two or more of the following areas:
Advertising, Marketing, Communications & Public Relations
Business Development
Fundraising
Research

Project Management
Event Planning
Experience using social media in a professional setting
Experience with graphic design and photography
Sales experience is an asset
Public relations experience is an asset
Experience working or volunteering for a non-profit organization is an asset
Experience with data management is an asset, including event tracking and database management (e.g. Sumac, Nation Builder, etc.)
Other requirements:
Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s licence is an asset
