Working Foreman – Turf
Regular Full-Time
The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking a Working Foreman – Turf with exceptional supervisory experience and solid skills in sports turf management, irrigation operations and sport group relationship management. If you are an experienced and highly motivated leader looking to proactively deliver high quality outdoor sport services in our community, this position may be for you.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and innovative turf professional with proven skills, knowledge and demonstrated leadership in the field of sport turf management. As part of Coquitlam Parks Sports Services section, reporting to the Park Operations Manager, this position will oversee and participate in developing annual work schedules and performance standards for 75 sport fields to support over 28 community field sport organizations in delivering field sport opportunities to the community. You will train, coach, mentor and supervise a team of subordinates in the delivery of quality sport field amenities and have excellent customer service skills. In addition, the work involves establishing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with a wide variety of community sport users.
The ideal candidate will have a completed the 12th school grade, supplemented by technical courses from a recognized institute of technology related to turf management and sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Three to five years of supervisory experience in a municipal or golf course setting is desired.
AWWA Cross Connection Certificate, Irrigation Certificate, Pesticide Applicator’s License and valid BC Driver’s License is required. Sound knowledge of the Maximo software system, the Sentinel irrigation control system and GIS mapping system is an asset.
