Job Description:
Athabasca County is presently accepting applications for a Tourism / Economic Development Officer at the County Administration Office.

The Tourism / Economic Development Officer is responsible for implementing the County’s tourism and economic development strategy. Additionally, the incumbent will coordinate with the Planning and Development department to assist businesses and developers in preparing for land subdivision and development. The Tourism / Economic Development Officer will organize events, prepare marketing materials, attend exhibits and trade shows, respond to requests for information and promote the attractiveness of the County to the business community and potential residents.

A degree or diploma in Tourism, Business or Marketing, or a degree related to the functions of the position is required.

This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week), with some evening and weekend work. The current salary for this position is $74,042 – $89,408.  Athabasca County offers an attractive benefit package and contributes to the Local Authorities Pension Plan.
