The Incorporated Hamlet of Tulita is seeking a Senior Administrative Officer with a strong background in Management, Budgeting, Reporting to Mayor and Council and in accordance with the Hamlets Act, S.N.W.T. 2003, c. 22, s. 3 the Senior Administrative Officer administers the municipal operations of Tulita including the supervision of all Hamlet employees.

Reporting to the Mayor and Council the Senior Administrative Officer is responsible for:

The management, administration and delivery of all municipal programs and services in order to ensure that they are accomplished in an effective and efficient manner and within all legislative, policy and procedural guidelines.
To carry out the decisions of the Mayor and Council, in accordance with the NWT Hamlet’s Act and the Constitution & By-Laws of the Hamlet.
Reporting to Mayor and Council the SAO oversee the day-to-day management of the Hamlet.

Qualifications include: The SAO would normally attain the required knowledge, skills and abilities through completion of a recognized accounting designation and/or through completion of a post-secondary program in Public or Local Administration and several years of related municipal experience at a senior level. Equivalencies will be considered.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.  Hamlet benefits and rules would apply.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a detailed Criminal Check and Background Check.
