The City is looking for a dynamic, results-oriented manager with excellent people skills to lead our Solid Waste and Fleet Services Section. Reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the department’s Solid Waste Program and Fleet Services including overseeing our corporate fleet for preventative maintenance, capital replacement and setting fleet rates.

You are a collaborative team builder and team player with strong analytical skills and a track record of implementing best practices and workplace improvements in your area of expertise. You have extensive experience in solid waste operations and are knowledgeable and experienced in vehicle and equipment fleet management. Your demonstrated success in relevant, progressive supervisory roles will be supplemented by a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline such as civil engineering, business administration or management along with a minimum of five years’ municipal operations experience at a senior supervisor level or higher. An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.
