Recreation Program Coordinator – Fitness
Regular Full Time

The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator with solid skills in delivering fitness and adult recreation programs. This position will oversee the growth and development of fitness programs for a variety of ages, along with other recreational programs for adults such as dance, music, cooking, etc. In addition, the work involves training and evaluating staff, evaluating programs and ensuring a high level of customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community recreation programming with a particular focus on fitness and adults and a strong working knowledge of fitness industry trends .   Candidates must possess current BCRPA Group fitness registration along with other specialized modules.  BCRPA Weight Training and Supervisor of Fitness Leaders certification (SFL) are assets.

The successful candidate will have completed a University or community college program with a degree or diploma in community recreation or related discipline plus sound related supervisory experience, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.  A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.

The CUPE hourly rate of pay is $28.90 – $34.01, plus we offer an excellent benefits package.  This schedule for this position is flexible and will involve evening and weekend work.
