Coquitlam Parks, Recreation and Culture Services is hiring a Recreation Leader to assist in the devel­opment and implementation of specified social, cultural, sports, parks, and recreational programs and services in the area of preschool and children programs at City Recreation or School Facilities.  The work involves directing programs; promoting interest and encour­aging participation in program activities; providing guidance and advis­ing facility users on specified activities; and assisting in directing the work of program leaders, instructors, and volunteers.    Candidates are expected to work days, weeknights and weekends working 8 to 30 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have completed a two year post-secondary education in Recreation, along with relevant work experience demonstrating a sound knowledge of sports interests, the fundamentals of program leadership, recreation instruction, and customer service.  First Aid/CPR Certification, valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is required.  Experience working with a variety of ages within parks and/or recreation facilities would be considered an asset. Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
