Property Valuator – Negotiator

Regular Full-Time

As part of the Strategic Initiatives department reporting to the Manager Lands & Properties, you will handle complex real property appraisals, negotiation and advisory work in the coordination of land development projects and the inspection and valuation of real property.  You will also inspect properties, conduct research, and review legal documents & agreements for the purpose of acquisition, land development or disposal.  In addition, the incumbent will perform a variety of property management duties for City owned rental homes and land as well as negotiate with a diverse group of stakeholders and/or external customers on different issues.

You possess a degree or diploma from an accredited college or university in Urban Land Economics or related discipline combined with the completion of course work through the Appraisal Institute of Canada, International Right of Way Association, Real Estate Institute BC or other related field, a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.  Along with possessing excellent oral and written communications skills, you are a team player with a collaborative approach adept at building relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Representative or Associate Broker License issued by the Real Estate Council of BC would be considered an asset. A valid BC Driver’s License and Certification with the Appraisal Institute of Canada or an equivalent organization is required.
