Organizational Development / Continuous Improvement Coordinator – City of Port Coquitlam – Port Coquitlam, BC

The City of Port Coquitlam is a rapidly growing urban municipality of over 57,000 residents, located in the northeast section of the Lower Mainland.  The City is distinguished by a strong sense of community pride and commitment to responsible municipal management in meeting the needs of the community.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, and working closely with the Chief Administrative Officer, the OD&CIC has an opportunity to affect positive cultural change at the City.  This position is responsible for the coordination and delivery of key corporate strategic projects such as Continuous Improvement Assessments, the City’s annual business planning process, and employee engagement initiatives.  If you are smart, innovative, results focused, have a strong customer service orientation and are excited by the challenge of building solutions, we want you on our team!

We invite applications from those able to demonstrate the following:

Completion of a post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in an applicable field such as Human Resources, Leadership, Business/Management Studies.
Creative critical thinking in business service/process redesign.  For example, has successfully led a group to analyze the current way of delivering a specific service/process to determine whether there is a better way to design how the work gets done.
Effectiveness leading/participating in group problem solving leading to decisions or action plans needed to address the issue.
Experience developing successful implementation plans for significant changes, such as work reorganization.
A history of being able to develop and maintain positive relationships throughout a large organization.
Exceptional written communication ability with experience authoring comprehensive reports to Council/Board of Directors/Committee and the public.
Strong organization skills and a history of leading projects to successful completion.
5 years’ well-rounded, experience practicing HR/Organizational Development in a unionized environment; experience working in an organization with diverse business units is an asset.
A sound understanding of business finance, budgets and organizational data.

This is an exempt position (non-unionized) with a salary range of $71,241 – $82,471 (2015 annual rates), based on a 35-hour work week.  The City also provides a comprehensive benefits package.
