Parkland County has a Permanent, Full-time position available for a Manager, in the Planning & Development Services Department. Under the direction of the General Manager, Development Services Division, the Manager, with a staff of 25, oversees the overall operation of planning and development services, including long-range planning, current planning, development planning, safety code services, development engineering and business licensing to County ratepayers and the Development Community. You are a strategic member of the management team and are responsible for providing direction to management and support to Council while demonstrating consistent professional leadership.
Qualifications:
Degree in urban and regional planning, environmental planning, human or physical geography, or a related discipline.
Ten (10) years in a municipal or private-sector planning function with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience at a management level.
A combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform related duties may be accepted.
Experience in both policy development and working with the development industry and residents.
Working knowledge of legislation, policies and regulations applicable to, and affecting land use decision making.
Canadian Institute of Planners and Alberta Professional Planners Institute memberships are preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and public relation skills are required.
Possession of a valid Alberta Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record is required.
Rate of Pay:
$120,559 – $150,701 per annum
Hours of Work:
7 hours/day; 35 hours/week
