Lillooet is in the middle of an outdoor recreation paradise. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Manager of Public Works will be a strong leader with lots of energy and enthusiasm. You will be able to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment and determination in the operation and management of the Public Works Department. The right person will participate with the senior management team to plan and implement a series of proactive management measures that include establishment of preventive maintenance and operation programs.

The District of Lillooet is undergoing much change and long term infrastructure planning and renewal will be a high priority.

The primary responsibilities and experience requirements is the management of the department and includes employees, water systems, a wastewater collection and treatment system, public works equipment, buildings and grounds, a roads system, parks, engineering services, capital and operating budgeting and capital projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in civil engineering technology and be registered as a technologist with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC. Certification in water or wastewater operations through the Environmental Operators Certification Program would be an asset.
