Local Government Administrator (LGA)/Band Manager Trainee eligibility:
Northwest Territories resident
Grade 12 or equivalent
Post-secondary education would be considered and asset
Minimum 12 months of related job experience
Willingness to commit to a 24 month training and development program
Willingness to commit to 24 months return of service with the sponsoring community government after the completion of the program.
The Katlodeeche First Nation is seeking a Local Government Administrator Trainee candidate preferably with experience in municipal administration, accounting, financial management and proven success as an effective communicator and civic promoter; be familiar with statutory requirements in the Government of the NWT Legislation; have a working knowledge in government operations, statutes, by-laws and policy making; have excellent leadership, problem solving, interpersonal and community skills as well as the ability to deal with staff fairly and diplomatically.
The incumbent must complete and pass a criminal record check. The successful trainee candidate reporting to the CEO, Chief and Council will; direct, administer and coordinate all affairs of the Katlodeeche First Nation Community Government; be responsible for all aspects of municipal administration, including management of human resources, operations, and projects in accordance with Designated Communities Act, Council By-Laws and Policies. Salary will be negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include a Pension Plan and Group Insurance.
