The City of Camrose is looking for a dynamic, proven leader to fill the role of General Manager Infrastructure & Planning.
Reporting to the City Manager, the General Manager will provide executive leadership to the Infrastructure & Planning Services Department, including Planning and Development, Building Inspections, Engineering Services, and Public Works in the context of strategic direction, priorities, financial resources, human resources, and governing legislation. As part of the City’s Management Team, you will collaboratively implement strategic oversight for the organization such as strategic planning, business planning, and performance measuring and provide advice on infrastructure and planning matters to City Council and senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Professional Engineering Designation preferred; combination of Master’s degree in relevant area and/or extensive management and leadership experience would be considered.
Completion or enrolment in the Local Government Certificate Program considered an asset.
10 – 15 years of professional leadership experience at a senior management level.
Thorough knowledge of the organization and function of a local government.
Proven ability to provide leadership and focus.
Experience in working with elected officials, boards and external stakeholders.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
The successful candidate will be required to produce a valid class 5 driver’s license and Police Information Check.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work are generally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Management duties will require work outside of the core hours as part of this role.
