The City of Campbell River is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Utilities Department as a Foreman II – Wastewater Operations. Reporting to the Wastewater Supervisor, the Foreman II is responsible for planning and implementing assigned daily tasks, and for assigning and supervising the work of operators, labourers, and various contractors performing work for the City’s wastewater treatment and collections infrastructure.
Success in this role requires:
2 year Diploma in wastewater related studies; or relevant Trades certification; or equivalent education, training and experience;
Level 2 EOCP certification in Municipal Wastewater Treatment with eligibility to gain Level 3 within 6 months;
Level 1 EOCP certification in Wastewater Collections with eligibility to gain Level 2 within 1 year;
Minimum 3 years supervisory/leadership in wastewater discipline;
Minimum 4 years progressive experience in a wastewater operations role for a Class II or higher facility;
Minimum 1 year experience in a municipal wastewater treatment operations role utilizing Level 2 EOCP certification;
Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management.
This position provides an opportunity to join a strong, proactive team. The successful candidate will bring with them a vast array of operational knowledge and will be given the opportunity to expand on that knowledge. You will play a large role in an active capital plan that includes upgrades to the wastewater treatment facility, lift station upgrade and replacement projects, and gravity and forcemain pipe repair/replacement projects. You will also implement, adjust and oversee a diverse preventative maintenance program and provide support for process control of the City of Campbell River’s wastewater system.
The current hourly rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $36.32, plus $0.75/hour dirty pay, working a 40-hour work week.
The current collective agreement provides for established incremental wage increases until 2018.
