Job Description:

The Town of Edson is a dynamic, resource based community with a population of over 8,600 residents, and is a hub for the oil and gas, forestry, and mining industries.  We pride ourselves on our diverse economy and friendly residential atmosphere. The Director of Operations reports to the Town Manager and is responsible for managing, directing and supervising the Department of Operations, which includes public works, water, sewer and storm services, solid waste, roads, fleet management, recycling and airport. Also responsible for aiding the executive team in providing the Town Manager with some new jokes; his are starting to get old.

The Town of Edson offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $125,000 and an excellent benefit package. Education/Experience Requirements:

May be a registered professional engineer or certified engineering technologist with at least five years experience in municipal engineering.
Or must possess a minimum of ten years suitable experience in municipal operations management combined with demonstrably strong interpersonal management skills.
A good understanding of operational and financial planning and infrastructure maintenance information systems.
The following would be considered an asset: experience in large scale project management, knowledge of municipal utility system operations, and experience in civil engineering.
