Reporting to the Senior Development Officer you would provide land use information, interpretation and advice; evaluate development applications for compliance with the Land Use Bylaw and other statutory documents; write legally accurate permits; write and manage development agreements; conduct on-site inspections for development permit compliance and prepare court-ready documentation; issue development completion certificates or issue orders of compliance and fines; and write reports and make public presentations to the Municipal Planning Commission and Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. Working knowledge of standard building, landscaping and engineering nomenclature, practices and methods
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Planning or a related discipline and three (3) years’ experience administering a Land Use Bylaw in an urban municipality or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and Registered Professional Planner designation in the Alberta Professional Planners Institute is desirable.
Specialized training in conflict resolution, facilitation, and communication is an asset.
Rate of Pay: $50.46/hr ($98,397 per annum).
Candidates with less than the desired qualifications for the position may be considered at a lower rate of pay.
