Salary Range: $167,780 to $224,454 per annum
As Deputy Minister, Finance, you will play a crucial and pivotal leadership role in formulating the financial, long-term, strategic direction for the Government of Yukon—the ideal challenge for a strategic and analytically minded finance professional with extensive executive-level expertise.
Respected among your peers for your integrity and your authentic, collaborative work style, you will liaise with a range of stakeholder groups to provide prudent management of government revenues, operations and capital expenditures including assets and liabilities. In addition to the operational functions of your role, you will also be responsible for leading a team, developing the government’s accounting, budgetary and tax policies and providing the Management Board with analysis and advice to support sound fiscal and budgetary planning and decision making. Negotiating and administering major financial agreements with other governments—including the Government of Canada and Yukon’s self-governing First Nations—will be another critical aspect of this high-profile role.
Essential Qualifications:
Post-secondary education, preferably in accounting, public or business administration or commerce
Extensive executive management experience in financial strategy development and financial management of a large organization, preferably in the public sector
Proven competencies in leadership, effective management, negotiations and collaboration, including strategic planning, change management, and human resource management.
Equivalent education, training and/or experience will be equally considered.
