The City of Campbell River is seeking a detail oriented individual whose “let us help you” approach will add to the City’s high level of customer services and satisfaction.
Under the direction of the RCMP Municipal Manager and working in partnership with the RCMP, the local Crime Stoppers Board of Directors, and the media, the Crime Stoppers Coordinator promotes the local Crime Stoppers program, to motivate and involve the public to anonymously supply information about a crime or potential crime of which they have knowledge without fear of reprisal.
The ideal candidate will have recent experience as a Canadian police officer; will be knowledgeable in all aspects of Crime Prevention and Community policing, police investigations, Canadian laws and court proceedings; and will have previous experience working with, training and recruiting volunteers. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, leadership and public-speaking skills; working knowledge of social media (eg. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, instant messaging, etc.); and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint have proven your value as a facilitator. You must possess a valid BC Driver’s License and your ability to obtain RCMP security clearance is mandatory. This is a 30-hour per week contract position.
