We have an exciting opportunity for a Crime Analyst.  This position specializes in research work involving the application of complex research techniques to support criminal investigative activities, operational programs and crime reduction strategies. You will be responsible for   providing statistical, tactical and strategic crime analysis services and intelligence information to The RCMP. You will be required to review police occurrence files to determine immediate crime problems and patterns of criminal activity; evaluate and validate intelligence information gathered from various sources; and develop and maintain comprehensive files, records and documentation. You will also deliver presentations, briefings, and situation reports on crime trends and related matter.  The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills and maintain working relationships with members, staff and external agencies.

Qualified applicants must have a University graduation in Mathematics, Geography, Criminology, Sociology, Psychology or a related discipline plus experience in related work. Or completion of a 2 year diploma program in criminology or related discipline and considerable related experience.  You also must have completed coursework in applied research and statistics. Excellent computer and software skills are key to this position.
