Temporary Full Time – 1 Year Term

The City of Coquitlam is looking forward to an exciting and vibrant 2016 as we celebrate our 125th Anniversary and is looking for an energetic person who will play a key role in the success of the events that are planned for the upcoming year.

This is a 1 year temporary full-time position with a focus on volunteer management for Parks, Recreation and Culture. This is a specialized role in managing a large volunteer program including assessment, policy & procedure development, training and coaching staff engaged in supporting volunteer placements, large scale event volunteer management and evaluating program needs. You will also be a resource and advisor on matters related to volunteer management philosophy and practices within the City of Coquitlam.

The ideal candidate will have an appropriate degree or diploma with courses in volunteer management, plus sound volunteer management related experience. Considerable knowledge of community volunteer resources and social services agencies, as well as sound understanding of the best practices for volunteer management and recreation services is required.  You should possess a strong competency with computerized database management (Volunteer Impact).

Membership in AVRBC (Administrators of Volunteer Resources BC) and a certificate in volunteer management are considered assets. The schedule for this position is Tuesday to Saturday with evening shifts. The City offers a competitive salary of $30.09 – $35.43 per hour plus an excellent benefits package.
