The Community Development Coordinator is responsible to assist and enable citizens, community associations and user groups to develop community programs, projects and events. Duties will include facilitating community involvement, acting as a liaison and supporting, assisting and coordinating community engagement in a wide range of areas including leisure alternatives, beautification, culture, youth, sustainability, organizational development and special events and programs.
Required qualifications, licenses and certificates include: a diploma or degree in Recreation, Administration, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Community Development or a closely related field; a minimum of five years leadership experience in a related role preferably of which 2 years are in a public sector setting and a Class 5 BC Drivers’ License. Rate of pay is as per the Collective Agreement at $39.59/hour (2014 rate).
