Chief Administrative Officer – Village of Anmore – Anmore, BC

Council of the Village of Anmore invites interested applicants to apply for the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Mayor and Council are looking for a CAO that is dynamic, innovative and capable of managing the potential growth of this thriving community.

The Village of Anmore, a semi-rural residential community with a population of approximately 2,400 residents, situated within Metro Vancouver and located north of the City of Port Moody and adjacent to the Buntzen Lake Recreational Area which offers a variety of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Vancouver is a short 40 minute drive away.

Under the direction of Mayor and Council, the CAO is responsible for, but not limited to, fulfilling the following duties:

Providing proactive and knowledgeable advice to Council so they are able to make informed decisions;
Providing direction and effective leadership for all municipal operations and employees;
Developing and implementing policies and programs as directed by Council;
Assisting Council in the implementation of the goals and objectives of the Village’s planning initiatives;
Holding the statutory position of Approving Officer and providing overall leadership for the planning and development of the Village.

The ideal candidate will have:

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholder groups including Council, staff, residents and surrounding municipalities;
Strong written and verbal skills;
Sound knowledge of municipal finance, infrastructure and community development with an emphasis on Community Planning;
An understanding of the Community Charter and the role of local government;
3 – 5 years’ experience as a Chief Administrative Officer or equivalent;
A post-secondary degree/diploma in a related discipline and/or completion of the LGA Certificate Program would be an asset.
