The Utility Maintenance Technician I Performs a variety of skilled work in the utilities division of Public Works related to the installation, testing, inspection, maintenance, repair and replacement of water meters.
Required qualifications, licenses and certificates include: Completion of Grade 12 education or GED, or equivalent combination of education or experience. Minimum of two years’ experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair of municipal utilities, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experienced in the use of personal computers, computer literate (i.e. WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK). Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License. British Columbia Cross Connection Control Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. Rate of pay is as per the Collective Agreement at $29.92/hour (2014 rate).
