Utilities Project Engineer – City of White Rock – White Rock, BC

The City of White Rock is a unique, ocean-side community of 20,000 citizens known for its sunny weather, expansive beach, historic pier, delightful restaurants, and sense of community. The City is located half an hour south of Vancouver on the shore of Semiahmoo Bay.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Municipal Operations, the Utilities Project Engineer is responsible for providing contract administration of the water utility and providing technical expertise and support for water, drainage, storm water and sanitary infrastructure design, construction, and replacement and maintenance projects and programs.  You will also be responsible for managing projects and consultants, overseeing and supporting the development of the inflow and infiltration program, managing utility replacement projects, and conducting water and sewer modeling.  This position may also be involved in the supervision of trades, technical and administrative staff.

Your previous accomplishments demonstrate your proven ability to create and sustain shared commitment on key municipal engineering matters that will foster innovation. It is essential that you are able to develop and maintain positive relationships with the public, contractors, consultants, industry stakeholders and internal departments.

Your qualifications include a university degree in Civil Engineering and registration or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in BC supplemented by a minimum of five years of contract management, and municipal sanitary/water/storm infrastructure design and modeling experience. In addition, you bring experience in developing budgets, policies and procedures and have proven skills to manage and motivate staff, contractors and consultants.
