The District of Saanich is seeking 1 to 2 experienced journeyman electricians for temporary full-time trades work in the Street Operations Section. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of traffic signals, streetlights, phone and data lines, capital works projects and other related infrastructure. Requirements include minimum grade 12; possession of a valid High Voltage Close Proximity Training Certificate; possession of a valid B.C. Driver’s Licence with a minimum Class 5 with air endorsement; five years experience which includes a Certificate of Electrical Apprenticeship, Electrical Trades Qualification Certificate and Electrical Field Safety Representative; Electrical Field Safety Representative designation (FSRB) and must be fit to perform work in all weather conditions.
