The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking an individual to join the Infrastructure Planning and Design team within the Information Systems Services Branch as a Student Information System Technical Infrastructure Administrator working in Fredericton for a period of 4 years.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Infrastructure Planning and Design, the successful candidate will:
Work with internal and external technical support teams to design, deploy, and maintain the infrastructure for the Student Information System and other systems as required.
Work in collaboration with the operations team to create processes/procedures and detailed project plans involving infrastructure projects.
Adhere to all service management principles/best practices (ex ITIL) as well as follow pre-established processes and procedures.
Take ownership of problems and be proactive when dealing with issues.
Diagnose and resolve system hardware, software, network, and escalate issues to other team members as appropriate.
Communicate with vendors to escalate hardware/software issues and request incident resolution.
Respond to inquiries from clients and help them resolve system problems in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software.
Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the following areas:
Experience in working with application servers, a wide variety of application software products, perimeter security and active directory.
Experience working in Microsoft Server environments and datacenter environments.
Experience in server operations and server virtualization (vmware).
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered such as:
Completion of a two (2) year college diploma in a related discipline; or completion of a one (1) year college diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of four (4) years of progressive, related work experience in the areas above; or six (6) years of progressive experience in the areas above.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Salary: $46,540 – $65,000 per annum (depending on qualifications).
