What Will You Do?
BeyondTrust is seeking a Software Engineer in our Halifax Office to design and implement functionality for our integrated IT Risk Management Platform. BeyondInsight is an integrated suite of software solutions used by IT professionals and security experts to collaboratively reduce user-based risk and mitigate threats to information assets, address security exposures across large, diverse IT environments, and comply with internal, industry and government mandates.
The Software Engineer is an experienced technology professional who designs, architects, implements, codes, tests and evaluates software applications. These individuals must possess great understanding of software architecture for n-tier applications. Applicants must also have an in-depth comprehension of building robust, optimized, and easy-to-use enterprise-level client-server applications. In this role, you will:
Work with Product Management and other developers to architect and design software solutions for product requirements.
Document architecture and development decisions.
Discuss designs, implementation, and estimating with other developers
Implement features as per design documents, and maintain existing codebase.
Plan implementation, which will include interim deliverables/milestones.
Estimate coding efforts for new projects.
What is Required?
Prefer 4 or more years total software engineering experience.
Programming skills in C#.
Knowledge of any of C++, HTML5, CSS, ASP.NET, Flex, and Silverlight are bonuses.
WCF Web service experience
Experience building and maintaining installers using WiX
Experience integrating with external web services preferred
Experience with operation and use of Windows, Linux, Unix
Knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and 2014 including normalized data structure design, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, and performance tuning. Analytical and Reporting Service experiences a plus.
Solid foundation in n-tier, Business Objects, Design Patterns, and general OOP concepts.
Experience with full lifecycle of development, including product release.
Well versed in developing modular and extensible solution architectures.
Solid communication, presentation and people skills.
