The District of Saanich is one of the four core municipalities within the Capital Regional District. The community is home to 114,000 citizens and is comprised of urban, suburban and rural areas, and 12 diverse neighborhoods. Saanich is known for its progressive initiatives in the areas of Environmental Protection, Climate Change, and Community Planning.

Saanich is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Technician – Subdivision to join our Planning team. The successful candidate will be a professional who is innovative and self-motivated, with a focus on customer service. Skill sets will include thorough knowledge of planning principles and regulatory bylaws, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. The individual will be team focused, working with a diverse group of professionals to implement our Official Community Plan.

The successful candidate will be called upon to undertake a wide variety of municipal planning work including: reviewing subdivision and development applications, implementing principles of good urban design, writing planning reports and correspondence, planning research; Zoning Bylaw interpretation, customer service and community consultation.

Requirements include a University Degree in Planning or a related discipline, 5 years of experience in municipal planning and subdivision, and a valid BC Class 5 Drivers Licence.  Consideration may be given to candidates who hold an equivalent combination of education and experience.
