The City of Cranbrook is currently recruiting for the position of Project Manager in the Engineering and Development Services department. Reporting to the Director of the department, the Project Manager is engaged in all aspects of capital projects and oversees all contracted construction activities. This position manages each project from budget estimates through to completion of capital works, including warranty period, while ensuring that standards and contracts are being efficiently fulfilled.

The City of Cranbrook is located in the southeast corner of British Columbia amongst the majestic Rockies and Purcell mountains, in close proximity to Alberta and the Canada/USA border. With a population of approximately 20,000, Cranbrook is the largest community in the East Kootenay with a trading base of approximately 70,000. Candidates for this position will have completed a degree or diploma related to Civil Engineering, or hold equivalent education, training and experience. A minimum of seven years of related experience with roads, water systems and sewer systems projects is required, along with related inspection and regulatory experience. Formal certification and education in project management would be an asset. Preferred candidates will be experienced project managers with a demonstrated ability to manage simple to complex construction projects using established project management practices and tools, including project management software.
