Project Coordinator
EOS Eco-Energy is an award winning not-for-profit organization focused on climate change and energy issues in the Tantramar region. We are looking for a dynamic individual who will coordinate a number of exciting projects linked to climate change adaptation and solar energy in Tantramar. The project coordinator will work out of our Sackville, NB office.
Duties:
Supervised by the executive director, you will be responsible for coordinating projects related to climate change and solar energy, including (but not limited to) an emissions reduction action plan for Sackville; coordinating community workshops on solar energy; bulk purchases of solar panels, sump pumps, 72 hour emergency kits, etc.; coordination of the 4th annual Tantramar Climate Change Week; and more.
Communicate with the public about energy, climate change and adaptation issues at community events, as well as with news articles, and social media posts, etc.
Raise public awareness about solar energy and climate change in creative and engaging ways.
Prepare regular reports of project activities, update databases, maintain volunteer and membership databases, and other administrative supports, etc.
Experience required:
Interest/experience in environmental issues.
Knowledge of renewable energy (in particular solar energy), climate change adaptation, sustainable community development.
Project management. Event coordination.
Experience working independently as well as part of a team.
Experience with community outreach, public education, and working with children.
Marketing/advertising, social media. Website maintenance (using WordPress).
Experience with Mac operating systems and Microsoft office.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in environmental studies, community planning, geography, marketing, business management, environmental science, renewable energy, or related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. Skills in French are a desirable asset.
Valid drivers licence and vehicle.
Dynamic, highly creative, organized, diligent, attention to detail, responsible, energetic, excellent time management skills, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, team player.
Contract details:
9 month contract from July 6th, 2015 to March 31st, 2016. 32 hours a week. Possibility of extension, depending on funding.
