The City of Campbell River is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to work within its Capital Works Department. The Capital Works Department is a small professional group working together to deliver municipal capital construction projects. Reporting to the Capital Works Manager, the Engineering Technologist III provides advanced technical support and expertise in all aspects of engineering applicable to Municipal Capital Construction Project Delivery.
Success in this role requires:
a desire to work on all facets of coordinating the delivery of municipal construction projects from concept development through to construction completion with an ability to effectively manage time spent in meeting rooms, on the drafting table and in the trenches.
two (2) year engineering diploma from a recognized technical institute or college;
eligibility for registration as an AScT with the Applied Science and Technologist Association of BC, or for registration with the Association of Professional Engineering and Geoscientist of BC (APEGBC), or other self-regulated professional association relevant to the relevant discipline/association;
training in Project Management;
minimum five (5) years progressive experience in the design and construction of municipal works and services within the past ten (10) years.
The current hourly rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $36.70, working a 40-hour work week.
