The Town of Riverview invites applications for the position of Municipal Engineer.
Known as New Brunswick’s largest town, Riverview is a progressive and thriving community located on the south bank of the Petitcodiac River. As a town experiencing significant residential expansion, Riverview requires an additional Municipal Engineer to join our team.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Public Works, the Municipal Engineer will provide professional engineering services within the Town and is responsible for the planning, design and contract administration of a variety of municipal projects and the review, approval and supervision of engineering consultants. They also review and approve all subdivision developments and commercial/industrial development with the Town and ensure compliance with current procedures, standards and guidelines. The Municipal Engineer also provides leadership and strategic advice in the areas of infrastructure, engineering and capital asset management.
The ideal candidate will provide high quality services and programs that reflect the needs of the residents and the strategic direction of the Town. The Municipal Engineer also oversees long-term planning, implements best practices and ensures that effective management frameworks are in place.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
Certified Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
Member, in good standing, of the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB) in good standing.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience as a professional civil engineer, preferably in a municipal environment or as a professional engineering consultant.
Excellent English language communication skills including presentation and document writing.
Knowledge and experience of the tender process, project management and contract administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) GIS, AutoCAD, Haestad software and traffic software.
Ability to interpret and implement Town policies and procedures.
Ability to interpret and implement the NB Occupational Health & Safety Act and WorkSafeNB regulations.
Valid New Brunswick driver’s licence.
