JOB SUMMARY
The Residential Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative and ongoing maintenance of Macro Properties’ apartments, townhouses, and motels in Prince Rupert. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing work orders and often carry out many different tasks in a single day in any number of locations, both indoor and outdoor. The Maintenance Technician always strives to give tenants professional, timely, and competent service for all maintenance related requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the maintenance field
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and an operational, insured and licensed vehicle
Knowledge of WHMIS and all other Health and Safety practices governed by
Provincial and Federal Legislation an asset
Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act an asset
SKILLS and ABILITIES
Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting skills
Knowledge of building materials
Strong ability to work efficiently in an unsupervised environment
Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
Able to carry building supplies up to 25lbs
Functions well as either part of a team or independently
Able to communicate effectively in basic English (verbal and written)
Takes pride in their work; act and think like an owner
JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain the daily operations of electrical equipment
Install, repair and service interior prefabricated products such as doors, windows, kitchen cupboards, bathroom vanities, water heaters and household appliances using hand and power tools
Regularly inspect and assess all areas of the portfolio to ensure that all equipment and facilities are being effectively maintained
Repair drywall and complete repair to final paint coat
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on electrical systems, plumbing and heating and ventilation systems
Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs
Remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
Occasional janitorial and lawn maintenance
Candidates must be willing to move to Prince Rupert.
