Position Overview: The Town of Canmore is looking for an Engineering Technologist or Technician who can take on diverse challenges as a member of our Engineering Services team. The successful candidate will assist the department in the areas of:

Capital project management and resident inspection
Development review and inspections
Permit review and approvals
Data collection, analysis, and reporting
Asset management, capital, and life cycle planning

Attributes: We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to detail, and the proven ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.

The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

post-secondary education in a related technical discipline
membership with ASET or similar technology association is an asset
familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS and GIS are an asset
a valid vehicle operator’s license, class 5 or higher
the ability to work in independently, in the field, in variable terrain and weather conditions

Compensation: The salary for this position is $55,000-$67,000 commensurate with experience and opportunities to progress into other roles. The position works 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.
