Job Description:
AMSC Insurance program provides a broad range of insurance services to members of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA).

Reporting to the Director, Insurance Services, the successful candidate will have experience working in Commercial Lines Insurance in a sales and service capacity. The candidate must have strength in prospecting for new clients while maintaining contact with the existing book of business. Must be detail oriented, while able to see the big picture. Able to handle tight deadlines, multi-tasking, customer service inquiries; all with a positive “can do” attitude and oversee issues through to successful resolution.  Occasional travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide advice to members on insurance matters, products and coverages, and resolve member’s concerns
Underwriting and brokering of member’s account and address any areas for growth in the member’s insurance portfolio
Coordinate member visits for own assigned members
Prioritize members’ needs in order to work most effectively for their benefit
Identify emerging or changing needs of member

Qualifications:

Must hold Level 1 or 2 Alberta General Insurance Agents License; or be eligible to obtain a Level 2 Alberta General Insurance Agents License
Actively pursuing or completion of the CIP and/or CAIB
Experience in commercial underwriting and account management
Knowledge of Commercial Insurance coverage including specialty coverage such as Professional Liability, Directors & Officers Liability, Environmental Impairment Liability
Ability to manage and service a substantial portfolio of small to large commercial accounts
Well-developed communication and relationship management skills
Effective team player
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
