Instrumentation Technician – District of Saanich

The Waterworks Section is seeking an Instrumentation Technician who will be responsible for maintenance, repair and installation of control and instrumentation devices for water pumping systems, storage reservoirs, pressure regulating valves, relief and altitude valves and sanitary sewer lift stations.

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; Certificate of Electrical Apprenticeship and Electrical Trades Qualification Certificate; Certificate of Industrial Instrumentation Trade Qualification; Certification as a Class “B” Electrical Field Safety Representative Designation; ability to obtain annual Electrical Permit for construction and maintenance of all water and wastewater facilities; ability to obtain EOCP Level II Certification in Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection; 5 years electrical/electronic instrumentation and control experience in a municipal water distribution system and/or wastewater collection system of considerable complexity; Confined Space Entry training; valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
