We are currently seeking a high caliber HSE Advisor – Roads & Infrastructure for a position in Windsor, Ont. You will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies.
Duties:
Support the construction leadership in implementing safe work processes as a member of the safety, health and security team.
Provide timely communications to the construction management team regarding safety, health and security concerns.
Independently perform advisory duties relating to the safety, health and security of a large construction site supporting multiple interfaces between the facility owner, facility management, site visitors, and craft personnel.
Ensures project site adheres to company and regulatory HSE standards and guidelines
Conducts onsite risk assessments and mitigation
Provide coaching and mentoring to management, supervisors, craft and trade personnel.
Implement HSE procedures as established by the Company on a project site or in an office through departmental training.
Makes decisions independently on engineering/scientific problems and methods relating to HSE using advanced techniques, modifications and extensions of theories, precepts and practices of the particular field, related sciences and disciplines
Provides input for HSE permit preparation on projects by maintaining expert knowledge of current guidelines and regulations
Develops, customizes, and implements HSE programs to all levels of project staff to ensure a balance between productivity and the safety of project staff and visitors in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
Runs gap analyses to identify and address program gaps in order to ensure that the project conforms to Company, client and regulatory/legislative requirements
Initiates, fosters and maintains HSE standards and goals through company and/or project wide HSE programs to heighten awareness and ensure a safe and productive work environment
Demonstrate and advocate safe work habits in line with the “Nobody Gets Hurt” philosophy for the site.
Utilizes HSE metrics in order to provides recommendations to HSE management when necessary to meet Company HSE standards and goals
Participates in incident investigations, summarizes findings, and recommends strategies to prevent recurrences;
Assists in the preparation, maintenance, retrieval, and communication of records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring the application of HSE standards and goals
Other related duties/functions as assigned
Requirements:
Ten (10) years of HSE related experience
Roads and infrastructure expereicne
