The Hamlet of Ulukhaktok has a fulltime permanent position open for a Heavy Duty Technician.

Reporting to the Municipal Works Foreman the Heavy Duty Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the Hamlet Fleet of mobile equipment which includes heavy equipment and some lighter vehicles. Other duties include but are not limited to welding, training apprentices, preparing sea lift orders, preparing work orders for invoicing and operation of Heavy Equipment.

The ideal candidate must possess a valid Driver’s Licence, an Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Mechanics licence with 5 years diesel and Heavy Equipment experience. Equivalences will be considered. He/she should possess the qualities of attention to detail, ability to work in a physically demanding field and good problem solving techniques.

Salary will be dependent on experience. Housing for out of town applicants is available.
