Facilities Maintenance Supervisor – Town of Ladysmith – Ladysmith, BC

We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to work in our Parks, Recreation & Culture Department.  Reporting to the Director of Parks, Recreation & Culture, the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor supervises maintenance staff engaged in the operation and maintenance of Town of Ladysmith buildings.  The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor maintains technical knowledge in various trades, ensures quality control, implements and monitors preventative maintenance programs and checks and evaluates the work to ensure required results are achieved while also providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Applicants must possess Pool Operator I and II Certification.  A Minimum of four years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings including three years relating to aquatic facilities and a minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity is required.  A Current Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate and/or Chlorine Handlers Certificate, WHMIS and a current Occupational First Aid – Level I are necessary.  The incumbent must also possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.

This is a permanent full time Union position (40 hours per week) with a rate of pay of $34.51/hour (subject to JE). The position offers an attractive benefits package as provided within the Collective Agreement between the Town of Ladysmith and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 401.
