Environmental Engineer
The Environmental Engineer is accountable for divisional environmental affairs covering a wide range of interactions with the Corporate Environment group, external government agencies, non-governmental organizations, PotashCorp employees and contractors. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving existing systems and processes to ensure that New Brunswick Division is in the best possible position to achieve the Company goal of ‘No damage to the Environment’. In general, the Environmental Engineer leads environmental management activities at the New Brunswick Division so that environmental aspects are managed and Corporate and divisional environmental objectives are achieved or surpassed.
The Environmental Engineer will have a degree in Environmental Engineering or a university degree in a related discipline, with greater than five years of relevant experience in environmental management and compliance. Consideration may also be given to an Environmental Technician with a commensurate combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be motivated, detail orientated and have a genuine interest in continuous improvement of environmental initiatives. The incumbent should possess superior verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, analytical abilities, and have excellent organizational and record management skills. Experience working in an industrial setting is an asset, as is previous exposure to environmental auditing functions.
