Engineering Worker – City of Langley

Applications are invited for Engineering Workers for Temporary Full-Time and Casual assignments in the Engineering Operations Division of the Engineering, Parks and Environment Department. The successful candidates will perform a variety of manual duties including water, sewer and storm installation, repair and maintenance. Road construction and maintenance tasks and other physical duties may also be assigned.

RATE OF PAY: $27.13 per hour (2015 C.U.P.E. rates)

HOURS OF WORK: Temporary Full- Time hours are 40 hours per week
Casual hours are up to 40 hours per week

Temporary Full Time employees are paid 6% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid vacation and become eligible for benefits after 6 months of continuous employment. Casual employees are paid 12% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid vacation.

The successful candidates will have Grade 12 plus experience in general construction and maintenance. A valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License is required. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal record check before commencing employment.
