Engineering Technologist – Resort Municipality of Whistler – Whistler, BC

The Utilities Group of the Infrastructure Services division has an opportunity for qualified individuals to apply for the position of Engineering Technologist – QA. Reporting to the Utilities Group Manager, this position offers 72 hours bi-weekly starting as soon as possible.

The Engineering Technologist – QA responsibilities will include fulfilling regulatory, managerial and benchmarking reporting requirements in addition to acting as a primary systems resource for the Municipal “Worktech” asset management/work order system, and any successor system. This role will include ensuring quality and continuity of information, to coordinate, collect and consolidate data as well as develop reports, graphs and analyses and other reports as required.

Qualified candidates will have completed post-secondary education in a related field and possess certification or eligibility for certification as an Applied Science Technician or Technologist supplemented by at least 2 years of experience in a similar or related role (i.e. Asset or Data Management). Candidates must be an MS Excel expert with strong data analysis skills; have strong work order and asset management system skills; good working knowledge of municipal water, sewer and drainage works; and previous experience in standard Microsoft Office applications, with substantial reporting experience in MS Access, MS Excel, Crystal reports or similar.

The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who is approachable and diplomatic and detail orientated with the ability to organize multiple projects at one time. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to learn and understand new technologies as required.

As a requirement of the position, the successful applicant must hold a valid class 5 BC Driver’s License and provide a clear drivers abstract prior to beginning employment.
