Engineering Technologist

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Engineering Technologist to join our team.
Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for providing engineering technical services to support the achievement of project and program objectives.
Qualifications:
2 year diploma in civil engineering technology or an Engineer-in-Training with a degree in civil engineering.
Member of, or eligible for full membership, in the Applied Science Technologist and Technologists Association of British Columbia (ASTTBC) or the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC).
A minimum of 1 year experience in civil engineering design, inspection, construction, infrastructure, and project management.
Knowledge of infrastructure project management.
Knowledge of government legislation and regulations such as the Local Government Act.
Ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and AutoCAD.
Valid B.C. Driver’s license.
This regular full-time position is included in the BCGEU bargaining unit. The hourly wage for the position is $36.03, Paygrade 8, plus an attractive fringe benefits package.
