Engineering Technician IV – District of Saanich

The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced engineering technologist to join our Engineering Department. The Transportation and Development Services Division designs roadways, pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The successful candidate will provide engineering duties for a variety of capital works projects primarily for transportation infrastructure and occasionally for sewer, water or drainage projects. Duties include preparing concept plans, public consultation, detailed design drawings, tender documents as well as managing projects as defined within the framework and guidance developed by the Project Management Office. Familiarity with road and bikeway design standards, project management, and road construction procedures would be an asset.

Requirements for this position include a Diploma in Civil Engineering; a minimum of 5 years related experience; eligibility for membership in ASTT of BC; knowledge of computer based engineering applications including AutoCAD; a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license and the use of a personal vehicle. Knowledge of municipal approval processes and standards would be an asset.
