Strathcona Regional District is presently receiving applications for the position of full-time Engineering Services Coordinator (exempt position).
Under the direction of the Community Services Manager, the incumbent of the position is responsible for developing and managing budgets for a variety of engineering services related to: water, sewer, liquid waste management, solid waste disposal, transportation, street lighting, wharfs, Oyster River bank protection, flood and rain water management. Two thirds of working hours are spent on managing projects, after the incumbent wrote and evaluated requests for proposals or quotations, and assisted in creating contract agreements to appoint professionals to undertake projects. The remaining third is spent on managing and co-ordinating the delivery of engineering services. The incumbent will be representing the regional district in various capacities, including open houses, community meetings, on-site meetings, and at the front desk.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a recognized technical institute with a diploma in civil engineering and eligible for membership in the Applied Science Technologies and Technicians of BC, or a combination of education and appropriate training and experience.
A minimum of three years of related local government experience.
A valid and un-restricted Class 5 driver’s license.
Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain courteous, tactful, diplomatic working relationships with the elected officials, colleagues, and the public.
