Engineering Service Project Manager – Pacrim Hospitality Services Inc.

Position Summary:
Engineering Service Project Managers are primarily responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the development of new projects and designs. They use their expertise to consult, manage, budget, and improve the efficiency of the management and development of projects of Pacrim from start to finish.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage overall project delivery from beginning to end, including accountability for the profitability.
Direct, control, and conduct the activities and operations of the Engineering Department of Pacrim on a project-to-project basis.
Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by.
Ensure all Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental regulations as well as the Employment Standards are in compliance.
Hire, train, assign, and manage engineering team and set and review professional development goals for engineers and the team.
Develop department budgets, prioritize spending, and advise senior management on cost over-runs and equipment requisitions if necessary.
Act as a liaison between contractors, suppliers, engineers, consultants, and regulatory bodies to make sure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Complete technical studies, designs, and assessments of various projects and tackle any technical issues that emerge.
Provide advice, recommendations, and presentations to clients regarding budget, project specifications, progress reports, issues, proposals, and other details regarding the project.
Collaborate and communicate with the construction team, client representatives, subcontractors, consultants, architects, and suppliers. Work closely with other departments on equipment upgrades and alterations to ensure efficiency and promote energy conservation.
Propose, create, administer, and oversee Standard Operating Procedures – SOPs and policies for the Engineering Department and make sure that they are met by engineering personnel.

Education and Skills:
A Bachelor’s Degree in the engineering field is generally required. Any higher level of education and additional training related to engineering is an asset.
A minimum of 5 years of extensive experience in engineering as an engineer, an engineering supervisor, and/or engineering manager is required.
Great attention to details, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
Additional Information: Position may entail some traveling within Nova Scotia. Report to VP of Operations.
Language: English essential, but candidates with foreign language skills that support Pacrim’s diversity, tourism, and expansion goals is an asset.
