Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects and Development, this position is responsible for the execution of capital engineering projects in the areas of roadways and underground utilities, review of subdivision drawings, and the provision of technical support to other departments. This position will also prepare council presentations as required, assists in budget preparation and administration, prepare consultant agreements and grant applications, prepare ‘requests for proposals’ for engineering construction and improvement projects and respond to public inquiries in accordance with City policies.

As the successful candidate you will have a technical engineering diploma (civil discipline) from a recognized technical institute or a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. Experience in municipal engineering and project management would be considered an asset. You will also be eligible for professional designation as either a C.E.T with ASSET or a P. Eng with APEGA. Equivalencies will be considered including Engineering in Training (E.I.T.) or Technologist in Training (T.T.). Experience with Arc Map, MS Office Software, water modeling software, sanitary sewer modeling software and / or other engineering software programs would be an asset. You will also have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently while maintaining a detail oriented focus.
