The Engineering Materials Testing Technician’s role is to participate as part of a working team that performs a variety of technical functions related to municipal maintenance, construction and planning projects. Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
Must possess a valid and subsisting Class 5 Province of Manitoba driver’s licence;
Grade 12, G.E.D., or Mature High School Diploma;
One (1) year of experience in asphalt, concrete and soils testing;
Proficiency in the use of desktop computer applications (Excel, Word);
Any additional certifications required under Provincial guidelines and legislation.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in an engineering environment;
Engineering Technician Certificate or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) Diploma;
CSA-Based Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification;
Radiation Safety Officer Training;
Experience in use of survey data collector apparatus, including Total Stations, GPS and data collectors;
Experience in the coordination and supervision of subsurface soil investigations;
Experience in the interpretation of construction drawings and specifications;
Eligible for additional certification as duties require.

Position Conditions: This full-time, position (36.25 hours per week). This position will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69.
