Engineering Inspector 2 – RFT

Based within the Design and Construction division of our Engineering and Public Works department you will rely upon your civil construction expertise to read and interpret construction plans for utility and road projects. You will review and interpret specifications and drawings, prepare accurate reports and records, and ensure contractors’ compliance with contract plans/documents, specifications, city regulations and by-law provisions.

The ideal candidate will possess at minimum grade 12 supplemented by technical courses related to the work performed plus considerable related experience preferably as an Engineering Inspector 1 in a municipal setting; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Certification as a Public Works Inspector Two (Public Works Inspectors Society) is preferred. Knowledge of municipal regulations, by-laws and operations would be a definite asset. Candidates must have a personal vehicle they can use for work purposes.
